From a family of artists and musicians, I have always been happiest when doing something creative. These creative endeavors have included careers as a singer/dancer, magician's assistant, opera singer, backup singer for an Elvis impersonator, and more. Other interests included playing the flute and piano, drawing and painting, Musical Theatre, and tap dancing.
As a Theatre/Dance Major, I attended Missouri State University where I dabbled in Journalism and considered switching majors. But my performing gene was strong, so I continued in theatre and worked as a singer/dancer for fifteen years, in Branson, Mo, Las Vegas, and across the country. Now I am excited to turn my focus to children's books. I find inspiration for my writing from my childhood in rural Southern Indiana, my career as a singer/dancer, and from the stories I make up for my son every night at bedtime. |
